costuming
I love costuming, and have been cosplaying on and off since I was about 15. I have been to several conventions, as well as plain old fancy dress parties!
Many of my costumes are taken from shows I watch, for example, I had several based up on Vala Mal Doran's character in Stargate SG-1. I generally tend to take many screen captures in these cases, and try and construct as accurate a replica I can from scratch with the materials available to me.
Other costumes can be taken from computer games, or even an interpretation of an idea. My 'wraith Teyla' costume is an interpretation I made, and at a Wolf Pegasus convention, a friend and I performed as Teyla and her wraith counterpart - and won first place in the fancy dress competition!
